Chapter 7: The Role of AI in Validation

AI as Your Research Partner
AI doesn't replace customer validation -- it speeds it up. Used well, AI is a force multiplier that can compress weeks of work into days.
AI can't talk to customers for you, but it's great at simulation, analysis, and pattern recognition. The key is knowing what AI does well and where it misleads. When founders use AI correctly during validation, they design better experiments, prepare better interview questions, synthesize data more efficiently, and maintain more rigorous documentation. Phase 1: Pre-Interview Preparation
Persona Simulation
Practice your interview skills before talking to real customers. AI can simulate different personality types, levels of skepticism, and communication styles so you're prepared for the range of responses you'll encounter.
Why it works: Practicing with an AI persona exposes weaknesses in your questioning technique before you waste a real customer's time. You'll discover which questions are too vague, too leading, or too focused on your solution rather than their problems.
